HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the measure of angle B in the triangle below? https://study.ashworthcollege.edu/access/content/group/38441f94-71d6-46e6-8dd7-ece73f5a6548/algebra1_exam_10_files/mc019-1.jpg A. 73.7° B. 90° C. 25.2° D. 16.3°

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hint: tan(B) = 24/7 use a calculator to use the arctangent or inverse tangent function to isolate B

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

let me know if that hint helps or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first time did this question i got 16.3 and that was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i just want and explanation to the correct anwser

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

tan(angle) = opposite/adjacent tan(B) = AC/BC tan(B) = 24/7 arctan( tan(B) ) = arctan( 24/7 ) B = arctan( 24/7 ) B = 73.7397953 degrees ... see note below B = 73.7 degrees Note: I used a calculator to evaluate arctan( 24/7 ) to get 73.739795 You can use google as a calculator and type in " arctan( 24/7 ) in degrees" without quotes into google to get this page https://www.google.com/search?q=arctan%28+24%2F7+%29+in+degrees&ie=UTF-8

wow thanks i think i get it now...

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok I'm glad you do, you're welcome
