Simplify the following expression. 2x - 10y + 3x2 + 7y - 10x.

OpenStudy (aakashsudhakar):

Simply add/subtract like terms as far as you can. I always like ordering all terms from order from highest power to lowest, just to make things a little bit easier. 2x - 10y + 3x^2 + 7y - 10x 3x^2 + 2x - 10x - 10y + 7y 3x^2 - 8x - 3y If you need to simplify it even more from here, you can always factor out the like terms, though take care not to carelessly factor out similar terms from the entirety of the expression, since they are not all in terms of x. 3x^2 - 8x - 3y x(3x - 8) - 3y
