plse solve this
how much work can 1 man do?
in a day that is ....
strategy: 1. determine how much work 1 man can do in 3 days 2. determine how many are needed to do 3/4 of a job 3. remove the 20 you already have to determine how many are needed
use unitary method.
20 men, 36 days, to do 1 job 1 man, 36 days, to do 1/20th of a job 1 man, 36/12 days, to do 1/(20*12) of a job 1 man, 3 days, to do 1/(240) of a job x/240 = 3/4 is what i see it as
x= 20 is answer
if 20 can only do 1/4 of the work in 9 days, they can only do 1/12 of the work in 3 days 3 3 3 9 (1/12)+(1/12)+(1/12) = 3/12 = 1/4 if you are suggesting 20 extra guys to do 3/4 of the work in 3 days: 20 20 (1/12 + 1/12) in 3 days = 2/12 = 1/6, not 3/4
x = 180 is the solution to my ratio above, and we already have 20 men, so we need how many more?
i m not getting it
20 men do 1/4 of a job in 9 days itll take them 4 times as long to complete the job .... 20 men do 4/4 of a job in 9(4) days 1 man does 1/20 of the job in 36 days 1 man does 1/[20*36] of the job in 1 days 1 man does 3/[20*36] of the job in 3 days therefore, 1 man does 1/240 of a job in 3 days how many men are needed to finish the 3/4 of a job in 3 days? x*1/240 = 3/4 x = 3(240)/4 = 180 men, we already have 20 men working for us, so we need to hire: 180 - 20 more men to accomplish our goal
it means 160 is anwer
