jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the angles 4y and 112 are supplementary (since they form a straight angle or straight line) so that means they add to 180 degrees 4y+112 = 180 solve for y to get 4y+112 = 180 4y = 180-112 4y = 68 y = ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=17 ? @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good, now use the same idea to find x (7x+7) + (4y) = 180 (7x+7) + (4*17) = 180 ... plug in y = 17 7x+7 + 68 = 180 and solve for x to get x = ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=15 @jim_thompson5910 thanks.(:

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
