solve the inequality for x. 1-7/2x < 9/2 -3/4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it was me, i would multiply both sides by 4 to get rid of annoying fraction and start with \[4-14x<18-3x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then add \(14x\) to both sides to get \[4<18x+11\] subtract \(11\) to get \[-7<18x\] and finally divide both sides by \(18\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what i'm trying to do but the answer has to be in fraction form according to my sister's homework :$ so i'm sort of lost lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops typo when you divide both sides by \(18\) you get \[-\frac{7}{18}<x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see, thank you for your help! math is not my best subject to help someone with lol so thanks!

OpenStudy (ranga):

There may be a typo in reply 2. The right hand side should be 18 + 11x
