how do I find x if x is an exponent of e?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.82857=e^-(5.11*10^-5)(x). How do I find x from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take the natural log of both sides: ln0.82857= lne^((5.11*10^-5)(x)) The exponent of lne moves to the front of the equation and lne=1; ln0.82857=(5.11*10^-5)x. then divide both sides by 5.11*10^-5 to solve for x. :)
