I think I would start out with this equation. 3x+4y=800

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I have solved A) and B) portion of the problem. I need to solve for both X and Y of the problem though to find C)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) \[\frac{ 800-3x }{ 4 }\] B) \[\frac{ x(800-3x) }{ 4 }\] C) States to find the dimensions that maxamize the enclosed area. X= Y=

So I know how to start it. X(800-3x)/4 Needs to be evaluated. The problem is I am not sure if I am getting the right answer. \[200x-\frac{ 3x^2 }{ 4 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I am right I would proceed plugging in the numbers into \[-\frac{ b }{ 2(a) }\] The only problem is I am not sure how to plug it in with that fraction hanging there is a 200, and b 3/4?
