A team of scientists is designing a solar cell, but the scientists are having difficulty. The chemical compounds in the cells are not converting light into electricity efficiently. To help solve their design problem, which of the following is the best question for the scientists to research? How hot is the sun at its core? How do coal-burning power plants produce energy? Is solar energy more environmentally friendly to use than wind energy? How do plants convert sunlight into energy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ans: How do plants convert sunlight into energy? - This may help them to perhaps remodel what occurs in plants through photosynthesis in the Solar Cells.

OpenStudy (kayne):

I agree with the option D. The solar cells are pretty much an imitation of what plants do every day. So, understanding how plants convert sunlight into energy - the mechanics behind- the scientists will be in a better position to design and model the solar cells effectively.
