At the X-intercept, y = 0 

At the Y- intercept, x = 0

To find x - intercept, substitue y = 0 into the equation 9.4x-5.8y-8.3=0

9.4x-5.8(0)-8.3=0
9.4x-0-8.3=0
9.4x=8.3
x=8.3/9.4
X=0.88

Likewise, to find y-intercept, subst. X = 0 into the equation too

9.4(0)-5.8y-8.3=0
0-5.8y-8.3=0
5.8y=-8.3 
Y=-8.3/5.8
Y=-1.43

x-intercept: 0.88 y-intercept: 1.43
