Much of Portugal's history has been determined by England, because of Portugal's relation to the Atlantic Ocean. In certain respects some have seen the relationship with England and some with Spain. Even Portugal's brief time in America fixed her language and habits on the most populated country in Latin America.

In 2010 there have been even more changes in Lain America with economic relations occurring between Brazil and China. Brazil, China, and India are 3 of the more dynamic nations in the world of trade and economics. Venezuela is doing her own thing with Asian and European countries, while Cuba is in her 51st year of communist rule.
