What would be the sequence of newly synthesized DNA, if the sequence of nucleotides on mRNA template is AUCGUA?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shrutipande9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh dang..I accidentally closed my question..:c

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Replace U with T and write the mRNA sequence. That would be 1 strand. The other strand would be complementary to the given mRNA sequence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it would be ATCGTA?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

that would be 1 strand. for the other strand write the complimentary.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I write the complementary? :/

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see A pairs with T and G with C. Ill show an eg then u write your ans. ACGTAC is my strand now the complimentary is TGCATG

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't get :(

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see u know that there are 2 strands of DNA. rite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

so u know that an adenine ie A pairs with T. so wen u have A on 1 strand u write a T against it on the next strand and for G write C.

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

U GETTING ME?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

sry for d caps:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Means ..I have to write T instead of A And C instead of G?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see i give u 1 strand having AC Now i have to write the 2nd strand. so against A i will write T and against C i write G. so both my strands look like this. AC GT
