A scientific theory can be incorrect but still be considered a good scientific theory. How can this be? Good scientific theories are sometimes incorrect, but they can still be accepted as true. A good scientific theory makes a testable prediction of what will happen, even if it is eventually proven wrong. Only correct scientific theories are considered to be good. Scientific theories are accepted truth and no longer subject to testing for verification.

Hypothesis testing is a critical part of science. The laws of nature exist. Science is a artificial construct to best explain how things work based upon evidence rather than belief. Since theories are our best guess, the details are subject to revision when we determine that some element of our hypothesis is not true.
