Where is Y supposed to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y is supposed to be on the right side right next to the line

But anyway, for the left triangle, it all of the angles MUST measure up to 180, and you are given 2 of the angles, being 62 and 38. so 180-62-38. This means angle X = 80. Angle Z is a supplementary angle to angle X, which means angle Z+X = 180. So you know that X=80 so Z must equal 100. Then knowing Z is 100 and the other angle is 17. Do 180-100-17 and sngle Y is 63
