Easy Medal When scientists begin a research project, they often begin by identifying a problem and making a hypothesis. If multiple scientists are able to support the same hypothesis with valid and independent experimental results, they can develop a scientific theory. Which of the following is true of scientific theories? A. Scientific theories can be developed by an individual scientist. B. Scientific theories are continually being tested, revised, and even occasionally discarded. C. Scientific theories often experience major shifts rather than minor modifications. D. Scientific theories are based on extensive research and can never be changed.
What do you think it is?
What's the definition of "theory"? This will help you figure it out. :)
im still trying to figure it out at the moment
scientific theory : a theory that explains scientific observations; "scientific theories must be falsifiable"
Okay, well, you know D is out of the question because the word "theory" indicates that it can be changed. It's not permanent, it's just an idea supported by evidence. C is out because there are minor modifications. A is out because you need more evidence than just one person's experiment to confirm a theory. So, that leaves you with B :)
agreed ^
