have you attempted this ? got any equation ?>
write their ratio multiply x...add them then equate to 2500
So so far I said: Let c be the circle, s be the square, and t be the triangle. Then I got 2c=s and 3s=t But then I'm completely stumped.
total = 2500 so, c+s+t = 2500 3 equations, 3 unknows
in c+s+t = 2500 put t=3s then put all 's' = 2c what u get ?
Oh wow I actually did do this and I got a decimal answer before! I've got to try this again and see what I get
yeah, even i get c = 2500/9 .....
Yeah exactly
I think it can be done with 1 unknown. 2 circ for every square 3 x squares for every triangle 1 triangle = 3 squares = 2circles for every 3 squares, 6 circles were made For every triangle there were 3 squares and 6 circles constructed. 250 triangles 750 squares and 1500 circles. Is that what you get?
@wolf1728 Yeah your answer is right, it's supposed to be 250 triangles, but is there a way you can show this with variables and algebra?
It is in the proportion of 1 triangle 3 squares 6 circles these proportions (1 + 3 + 6) add up to 10. Divide 2,500 by ten to get triangles produced. Think I'll need to think more to produce an actual algebraic equation.
Let x = # of triangles produced. 3x is the number of squares produced. 6 x - number of circles for every triangle constructed. So x + 3x + 6x = 2500 x is 250 and so on.
Ahhh yes this makes so much more sense, thank you! :)
s=3t c=2s = 6t s+c+t = 2500 3t+6t +t = 2500 guess i m too late :P
but you nonetheless found it :-)
