did I do this integration correctly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hartnn (hartnn):

1 error

hartnn (hartnn):

1= Ax-2A+Bx-B 0x= Ax+Bx 1 = -2A -B you have written 1=2A+B which is incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aha! i don't know how i made such a stupid mistake lol. then A=3 and B=5? giving ln(x+5) - ln(x-2)?

hartnn (hartnn):

what i would do 1=A(x-2) +B(x-1) now this is true for every 'x' so, put x=1 1 = A (1-2) A = -1 put x=2 ....

hartnn (hartnn):

simpler than what you did, is it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

very much so! the odd thing is I always used to do it your way but today for some reason my brain just decided to do it a different way

hartnn (hartnn):

so could you do it correctly now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i can, thank you kind sir. with the help of this site i might actually pass my calc exam

hartnn (hartnn):

best of luck! :)
