How do I solve for a side in a triangle where I only know that it's a right triangle and one side (the one adjacent to the right angle).

I am trying to solve for x but am not sure how to start even.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

can you post a quick screenshot of the material?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I made a diagram jdoe0001, see my response above yours

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

I see it, I don't think you have enough info though to get anything else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah...that's what I thought as well :/

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so.... if we could take a look at the screenshot, just to remove any ambiguities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok give me a few secs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is the pic of it I took (no electronic version avail so I had to shoot a pic with phone)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

... what .. sections are you covering?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just the x is needed

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm I don't see enough info.... unless I were to assume the the adjacent side is equals to the opposite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I'm gonna skip this one. thanks anyways!
