a building casts a shadow 10 ft long. a statue in front of the building casts a shadow of 2.5 ft long. if the statue is 15 ft tall, how tall is the building?

You just need to set up a fraction/ratio. shadow 1/object 1=shadow 2/object 2 because they are proportionally the same. So you have the statue: 2.5/15 which is 1/6. So the sun casts shadows that are 1/6 of the size of the object. So, all you need to do is figure out if 1/6 of the object is 10ft (the shadow) then what is 6/6 of the object?
