Should the American War for Independence be considered revolutionary?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it should be considered revolutionary but I don't know what I can support it with.

Haha the first paragraph convinced me that it shouldn't be considered revolutionary. How do you think I should write my thesis? I'm always bad at them.

OpenStudy (gatorgirl):

I'm not really sure what a thesis is. sorry :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thesis statement: a short statement, usually one sentence, that summarizes the main point or claim of an essay, research paper, etc., and is developed, supported, and explained in the text by means of examples and evidence.

How could you not consider the american war for independence revolutionary? It was the first time that any colony rebelled against their mother country. It was the first government that was set up without a monarch or autocratic rule. A whole new country was created based on the enlightenment principles.
