A cyclist rides her bike at a rate of 27 kilometers per hour. What is this rate in meters per second? How many meters will the cyclist travel in 15 seconds? Do not round your answers.

All you need to do is convert the units from km/h to meters/second. In 1 kilometer, there is 1000 meters. In 1 hour, there is 60 mins, and in 60 mins, there is 3600 seconds. 27kilometers/hour = 27000 meters/3600 seconds = 7.5 meters/second. Now all you need to do to figure out how many seconds the cyclist travels in 15 seconds is to multiply 7.5 meters/second by 15, which is 112.5 meters.
