Which is a site where igneous rocks form? A. ancient seas B. forests C. volcanoes D. deep underground

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok i can eliminate A. and B. in just stuck between C. and D.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, I can get that. A volcano spits out a ton of melted stuff! Obsidian is a good example. Did you learn what type that is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but i got confused because a volcano has the magma chamber in the ground and thats where i got confused

OpenStudy (uh60blackhawk):

igneous meaning:produced under conditions involving intense heat, as rocks of volcanic origin or rocks crystallized from molten magma.

OpenStudy (uh60blackhawk):

so that means volcanoes.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

yah, igneous can happen deep underground, but so can metamorphic. That is why volcanoes is a better answer, but volcanic action or vulcanism is even better. Because those happen at many different areas.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you guys
