the k=1 tells you that the series starts with the # 1 and the 4 on top of the E tells you that it has 4 terms so 1,2,3,4 is the series then you just plug each of these numbers in for K and add up all of the answers 16+25+36+49=126
well what are the terms 1st term, k = 1 (1 + 3)^2 2nd term k = 2 (2 + 3)^2 3rd term k = 3 etc 4th term k = 4 etc and add the solutions...
