create a quadratic function f(x), in vertex from. Using your birthday. So I have f(x)= 3(x-7)^2 + 13. Then I have to create two additional quadratic functions g(x) and h(x). g(x) will open the same direction as f(x), have the same vertex, but will be narrower. h(x) will open in the opposite direction as f(x), have the same vertex, but will be wider than f(x). Then explain in complete sentences why those functions will meet the requirements g(x) = 4(x-7)^2 + 13 h(x) = -1(x-7)^2 + 13 I just dont know how to explain in complete sentences that they meet requirements not sure if they meet requir

Can you tell me why you picked those as your answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my birthday is 7/13, so I chose 3 for my first one. I chose 4 because I know it will go in the same direction as 3 because it's positive and I chose -1 becuase it will go in the opposite direction. Both have the same vertex which is 7, 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, see the reason you gave for 4 and-1 is already part of what they asked you

It timed out @zimmah, I guess my question is, am I correct about my last response?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only thing you may want to also explain is why you picked -1 and 4 and not -4 and 1 for example. Why would 1 and -4 not work, or do they work?

I thnk the server restarted I had a time out too, you are correct, but probably not complete.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I didn't study the functions but the logic seems correct to me I'm in the train so I can't really draw them out here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for your help @zimmah. I really appreciate it. I think that I will just write what I wrote you and my instructor can tell me if I am wrong or not :)

Ok, you're welcome.
