Given the binomials (x + 1), (x + 4), (x - 5), and (x - 2), which one is a factor of f(x) = 3x3 - 12x2 - 4x - 55?

hartnn (hartnn):

if x+1 is a factor , then x=-1 satisfies. so, plug in x =-1 in f(x) and see whether you get a 0. if you get a 0, x+1 is a factor. if not, it isn't. do same procedure for all other factors.

okay, thanks

welcome ^_^
