well I have to do a dialogue between two people that I choose from what they have given me, one is a anti- imperialist and the other is a pro-imperialist.
I have to research what they agree on about it, what each person believed about it & etc.
but im looking up what these peoples beliefs were and im not finding ANYTHING !

I don't think that history in high school is divided into grades, there are different courses such as American History, American Government, European History and etc.
I think your trouble is with some specific information; ask specific questions about the information that you need to do your portfolio, we will be very happy to help you with websites, answers and explanations!

I did some more research which I can summarize into the following phrase:

Although Mark Twain opposed to the acquisition of Puerto Rico and the Philippines which Roosevelt supported, he supported the acquisition of the American West at the expense of the Indians and the Mexicans (as well as Roosevelt).

I have to get the real thoughts from both people and have a convo between them both. so I guess its kind of like them arguing what they believe.

So I guess you have to use Historical fiction, because the dialogs aren't documented.
So based on their views, if you are comfortable with the information and material you have, thinking that you Do have enough, write a dialog, I would suggest to add details and describe the settings like a writer- the easier part of your assignment.
