Help with a multiple choice question. Which graph best represents the solution to the following system? -3x+y <1 -x+y ≤ 1
if you were to pick one, which one makes the most sense to you?
a simple point to test on this might be (0,0) if that is a solution to the system, then it has to be in a shaded region; if not, then we can exclude it
Im confused on the shading sections.
the shades just refer to the true solutions. If a point is a solution, it will be within the shaded part
i notice that 0,0 is simple to test so that we can determine if that point is in the shade or not
oh ok.
-3x+y <1 0 0 --------- 0<1 is true -x+y ≤ 1 0 0 --------- 0 ≤ 1 is true so the point 0,0 HAS to be in the shaded part
B is the only one that shows that 0,0 is shaded.
then B has to be the correct choice :)
