can anybody describe the Louisiana Purchase? Help please

The Louisiana Purchase happen in 1803. Thomas Jefferson was president and France own land East of the Mississippi River. The United States wanted to buy New Orleans. So President Jefferson send James Madison and Robert Livingston the France to negotiate a deal. Now France was having trouble in a little island name Haiti. The Haitian Revolution was taking place and it was killing the French. So Napoleon Bonaparte gave the territory for $15 million dollars. Of course the US took it that was a cheap price for a vast amount of land. The US now had 828,0000 square miles of land. That's basically 3 1/2 cent for each acre. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark Expedition (1804-1806) Since Thomas Jefferson wanted to know what was out there in the new land he send these two guys to explore the newly brought land. They when from St. Louis to the Pacific Coast and back without losing a man. they had 33 guys and one dog. They found 300 new species and 50 tribes. Of course you know they met a women name Sacajawea who enough enough had here baby on the trip and was walking with them the very next day after her birth. There also was a man name York (the only black man who was a slave and was brought by Clark. After the trip sadly Clark when back to his life and boldly beat his slave because York wanted freedom. And Lewis was given a government job but than went into depression and killed himself.
