Are you trying to find y?
If you're trying to find y, y = 136 / 24
I'm not sure, the question is just wanting to know what number needs to be eliminated to solve the problem.
I don't think it's trying to find y, but thank you anyway! I just need to know which number needs to be eliminated.
Divide both sides by 1/24. This will let the 24 cancel out on the right side. leaving you with 136/24 = y You may need to simplify that, but doubt it since it only asked for the number to be eliminated.

Well, what number did you eliminate when you solved the problem?
24, cancel out and eliminate same thing.
Thank you.
