I need some ideas for starting my rough draft.

You are the phantom/plague king who killed all the nobles in "The Masque of the Red Death" and you have been captured and put on trial. Write a letter to the jury persuading them that the nobles deserved to die.

You would want to speak of your self as noble(fair) as you possibly can and you would want to persuade how you were doing the "right thing" by balancing out the deaths of equals on the outside of the party as in the inside due to the guests of the party and the host thinking of them as higher in society then others so you decided to remind them that death rules all.
