Hello ^.^ I need help with Inequalities. I'm not looking for anyone to give me the answer, I'd like someone to explain to me how to get the answer. :) The first one is -2x + 5 <7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can I recommend a link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now its easy to help to solve this. But I'm going to recommend a link from Youtube. It help me a ton!

First link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X-bMeIN53I Great help.

Btw, I think @dibuaman is showing you how to solve this by the way. But this is just for future reference.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.take "5" to the right side, now the equation becomes -2x < 2. 2. Now in case of inequalities, whenever we try to reverse the sign in whole equation, even the inequality gets reversed, so we can say 2x > -2 3. now you can simply get the answer from this by deviding the equation by 2. SO now the equation becomes x > -1, and you have the answer. :)

And ... www.yaymath.org is also a great help. Its free. Just search it.

x-QueenBunBun do you know how to solve linear equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This purple math overview is really nice too. http://www.purplemath.com/modules/ineqsolv.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jdoe0001 Nope, :( I'm horrible with math. @rbeckford134 thank you!
