Okay! Hold on a sec!
Subtract 7x + 4 from both sides to get: 2x^2-7x-4=0 The left hand side factors into a product with two terms: (x-4)(2x+1)=0 Split into two equations: x-4=0 or 2x+1=0 Add 4 to both sides: x = 4 Subtract 1 from both sides 2x=-1 Divide both answers by 2: x=2 or x = -1/2
