A cyclist rides her bike at a rate of 8 meters per second. What is this rate in kilometers per hour? How many kilometers will the cyclist travel in 5 hours? Do not round your answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty.... So, there's how many seconds in a minute? 60. There's 60 minutes in an hour. How many meters are in a kilometer? 1000. So, to start, let's find out how many meters she travels per minute. 8(60)=480 Now, how many per hour? 480(60)=28800 So, if she travels 28800 meters per hour, we still need to find kilometers. 28800/100=288 So 288 km per hour. Now, 288(5)=1440. :)

both wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first answer 288 km/h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

second is 1440

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because both are wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops. I meant, 28.8 km per hour So 28.8(5)=144

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it'd be 28.8, and 144

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

will do another one , its the last of its kind if its correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
