Discuss at least one benefit and one drawback of establishing a mandatory recycling program in the United States. What impact would the program have on your state and on residents in your community? What impact would the program have on the environment as a whole? (My answer will be posted below. If you could just tell me if I should turn it in, edit, or even redo it)
Here is my answer: One benefit of establishing a mandatory recycling program is, of course, by re-using materials and objects, less space will be used up in landfills, also, by re-using items, many items would not be thrown in environments that do not need it. For example the ocean, there are so many items of trash in the ocean, it's incredible to think about! A drawback of a mandatory recycling program is the cost, and also the effort. The time put into the recycling program would be consuming, and many people would not want to make the effort, because we all know, we are lazy. This program would have a great impact on my state and the residents that live here with me, since I live near the ocean, many people wouldn't throw stuff on the sand, leave anything on the sand (even though our community doesn't allow us to leave anything there), a lot more of the environment would be very safe. It would have an impact on the environment as a whole because... Well, we would be doing a lot more to prevent the dangers of pollution and trash. The program could protect special areas, that way, those areas would be extra protected.
Nevermind! I turned it in and got an A, thanks for anyone's help anyway!
