MEDAL!!:) Which of these pairs of variables would you expect to be represented by a scatterplot with a negative correlation? A. The weight of a package and the cost to mail the package. B. The amount of gas in the tank of a car and the number of miles driven. C. The cost of a car and the number of tires it has. D. The cost a telephone call and the length of the call.
Negative Correlation: As x (independent variable) increases, y (dependent variable) decreases. Which one do you think is the answer?
B right?
@Easyaspi314
B is my answer, is tht correct??
yes it is.
Because as the miles is increasing, the amount of gas in the tank is decreasing, meaning the it is a negative correlation. All of the other are positive correlations because they both increase.
Sorry..had a phone call.. Best choice is B....choic C is constant (4 tires) Personally, I dont like this question.
