use the kinematics equation where vyf^2=vyi^2+2*a*y(final-initial) initial velocity is zero
partb) im not sure if you meant the stone has a mass of '2kg' instead of "2km" so deltaE= deltak+deltaU so delta E=.5mv2f-.5mv2i+mghf-mghi=0 you know all the variables here so you can get potential and kinetic energies.
