can you help please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know that FE=1/2 (BC) right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nincompoop can you help please

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

Use similar triangles. Observe that ∆ABC is similar to ∆AFE

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

FE/BC = AE/AC = AF/AB = 1/2 FE/BC = 1/2 FE = 1.5x + 3

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

What do you mean by F = x + 4. F is a point.

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

It's in terms of x, because a point cannot take a value. My answer is FE = 1.5x + 3. How did you get x = 1?

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

Then I have no idea. Sorry...
