The face of a tent is shaped like a triangle with an area of Twelve feet squared. The area of the triangle is represented by the formula A equals one half b times h. The height of the tent is 4 feet. How wide is the base of the tent? 5.0 feet 5.5 feet 6.0 feet 6.5 feet

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you know that the area is 12 and height is 4 the formula says, Area= (height times base) / 2 plug in numbers 12=4 times base let x represent base, 12=4 times x or =4x divide both sides by 4...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you dive both by 4 it would be 3 and 1

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

My bad, I didn't do the formula correctly

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

12=(4x) / 2 right, b/c it is a triangle (sorry!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its straight lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

so, 1) both sides times 2 2) both sides divide by 4

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

or cancel the denominator, and divide both sides by 2

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

@Hannnnah, Should explain this a little better?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No its cool I got it

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

K, good!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I always start viewing after i type a reply and not b4....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lmao

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

how?
