I am being asked what organelle would be able to be taken out of the cell that would allow it to still function, and why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay well what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay how about what do you know that it's not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've been sitting here trying to figure that out, but I'm still not sure. I keep wanting to say either lysosomes or ribosomes. But i'm not sure if the ribosomes are absolutely necessary to makes the proteins or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I know it can't be the nucleus, or the cell membrane.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's correct but it's not going to be the ribosomes because those are the messengers so you need them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so maybe lysosomes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you mind if I give you a URL to a website I just found? i'll answer your questions and any extra infor u need to know :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but from reading this I think the answer is Peroxisome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
