OpenStudy (campbell_st):

this appears to be an arithmetic series question, and you are asked to find the sum of the series \[S_{n} = \frac{n}{2}[ a + l]\] n = number of levels, a = number of gems in the 1st level and l = number of gems in the last level. substitute them to find the sum, or total number in the game.

816?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well is that a guess or a solution...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both. it's 816

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well there you go... a little math got the answer.
