Simple question, I just want to check and make sure I did this right because I feel like it was too easy. I had to simplify -x^3-3(-x)^2-16(-x)+48. I got -x^3-3x^2+16x-48. Is that right? I just needed to simplify it so the Xs werent -Xs.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Why -48?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should be -x^3-3x^2+16x+48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought the 16(-x) would change the +48 to -48.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh,okay.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

the sign of 16(-x) has nothing to do with the NEXT term 48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it will not affect that 48 term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So, just the sign in front of it will change if it needs to.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you. (:
