cot(th)>0 sec (th)>0 cot(th)=cos(th)/sin(th)>0 sec(th) =1/cos(th)>0 ===> cos (th)>0 so put +number in eq 1 then must be sin(th )>0 so sin ,and cos are + in 1st quadrant
