PROBLEM 13 : Consider a rectangle of perimeter 12 inches. Form a cylinder by revolving this rectangle about one of its edges. What dimensions of the rectangle will result in a cylinder of maximum volume ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isn't it infinite because the volume of a cylinder is \[\pi*r ^{2}h\]So when you plug in 2 for r you will have\[4\pi*h\] which is a linear a equation which doesn't have a maximum. If I'm wrong sorry. Its been awhile.
