u have to do the reverse of the functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = (1/4)x + 3 step 1: let f(x) = y: y = (1/4)x + 3 step 2: swap every x for a y and vice versa: x = (1/4)y + 3 step 3: put it back in the form y = f(x). the new simplified y = f^{-1}(x) [inverse of f(x)] y = 4(x - 3) = f^{-1}(x)
