A 5.0 kg bucket of water is raised from a well by a rope. If the upward acceleration of the bucket is 3.0 m/s^2, find the force exerted by the rope on the bucket.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Recall the equation: Force = mass * acceleration. you have mass given to you you have acceleration given to you plug them in and solve for force ^_^

Don't forget the downward acceleration of gravity is -9.8m/s^2 so the net acceleration is: -6.8m/s^2 right? @DemolisionWolf
