inequality: x^2-4 over x^2-1 greater or equal to x over x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can plug in any number in x and see which side is bigger

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its actually less or equal to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just cross multiply...change the inequality sign to an equal sign, and treat it as an equation. remember if u multiply or divide by a negative value u have to switch the sign, but in this case i dont think u need it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after that just isolate x, then replace the equal sign to the original

OpenStudy (anonymous):

youll get 3x^2 - 3x -12 <or equal to 0 then factor them out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^2 - 3x -12 <or equal to 0 can it be factored? cuz i cant find an answer for it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can factor the 3 out, it wud be 3(x^2 - 3x - 4) <or equal to 0
