Determine Relevance Explain how geography affected the development of Constantinople as the “New Rome.”

OpenStudy (chrisneedshelp):

The way rome was situated was an excellent spot due to its defenses from water and land borne attacks. Rome sits on a mountainous plate and it is a relatively good distance from the water which would make invading it hard from sea, and even harder from land due to the major defenses set up by the ancient romans, on the other hand Constantinople, sat right on water, and was near bad lands inhabited by mongols, justiciars and muslims, which in turn made it a very poorly defensed area.
