Find the GCF (Greatest Common Factor) of the expression. Then Factor the expression. 5x^2 +25x -70. I know 5 is the GCF, what is the next step after finding GCF?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it's finding the zeroes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your guess is as good as mine.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or am I think of the wrong type of ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems so because my other question didn't have to go with zeros.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. I tried looking up similar problems because Im doing the exact same HWand have the notes next to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, you too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets try and solve it then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have a diffe. ex. this is it 4x^2 +20x -56 gcf is 4 and it says that we put the 4 outside so it will be like so 4(x^2 +5x-14)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you mult. each by the GCF (4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think so because it too wanted us to factor and the problem can be futher factore.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factored*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and if you mult. is would just bring you to the same expression all over again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to go. I have an essay to rough draft so if I see another? of yours later ill help you out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's okay going to Tallahasee tomorrow anyway no school. i just wanted to understand this before i left to the field trip.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have fun! Peace:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tallahassee* thanks bye
