"Don't give in to your fears. If you do, you won't be able to talk to your heart" what does this mean?

Fear makes us act without thinking. It makes us not care about anything else but making the fear stop. Then we quit thinking about the future, and are only living in the now. We don't think about things in the long term. Whenever you give in to your fears, you stop acting and just react. At least that is what it means to me.
