Writing Activity. Write the answer to the following questions in a complete Spanish sentence. Be sure to use the corresponding form of the verb estar and don’t forget about the question-answer pairs you learned in lesson 3.11. For example: " Paco es médico. Paco tiene un paciente. ¿Dónde está Paco?” you will write your answer, “Paco está en el hospital.” Please view the Grading Rubric before you begin. Petra es una profesora. Ella tiene muchos estudiantes. ¿Dónde está Petra? Tú miras la televisión. Miras un programa cómico. ¿Cómo estás tú? Nosotros somos unos abogados. Hablamos much

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay. This is what I want you to do. I am going to translate this for you and you will answer this in English first. Then, translate it to Spanish and come back to me by tagging me (like this @kewlgeek555 ) or by PMing me. I will revise to see if your Spanih is correct and we are done!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks, Spanish is hard for me. Btw nice username @kewlgeek555

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Petra is a teacher. She has many students. Where does Petra work? Is that right? You watch television. The program is funny. What are you doing? I have no idea about the last part.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Partially. I'm sorry. I was supposed to translate this for you and I forgot. But you are good in Spanish! Here: Petra is a teacher. She has many students. Where is Petra? You watch telecision. You watch a funny program. How are you? (What are you feeling?) We are a group of lawyers. We talk a lot.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I think the third sentence isn't complete...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It isn't. Here is the full sentence. Nosotros somos unos abogados. Hablamos mucho. ¿Dónde estamos?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay so: We are a group of lawyers. We talk a lot. Where are we?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In court. En corte.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I have to say: the first and second questions are easy, but the third one is tricky - I don't know it. I mean, it can be the court, their office, or even at lunch break! But I think what you chose was appropriate.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

And it's "En la corte."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Petra es en escuala.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you for the help. Btw are you home-schooled or virtual or something?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Actually I think that Petra is in the classroom, but the classroom is in school right? For school: Petra ésta en la escuela For classroom: Petra ésta en el salón de clase.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

And I think you forgot the second question. I also want to tell you somehting and yes I do go to virtual school.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tu (with accent) miras television (with accent)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So do I. Do you do BVS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Broward Virtual School

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

No, the second one is how you would feel or how you are when you are waching a funny program. I know I would feel funny...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops...

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I go to Florida Virtual School and Orange Virtual School.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah I do FLVS and BVS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how should I do the second one?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Yo estoy cómico.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you, I wouldn't have noticed that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait Orange County or city?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Orange County.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh really my cousins live there?!? haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Woah thanks for the medal.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

You are welcome - I gave it to you for being a good Spanish learner.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

lol^ technical difficulties.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait @kewlgeek555 wouldn't you put feliz not comico? That would translate to "I feel funny"

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Feliz is happy, but since the movie is "comico", then you would feel "comico" too. It is the safest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Also; Remember to put "el" and "la" in between thos words. For example you put "etra es en escuala." before. Before the noun which is 'escuela", put "la" since it is feminine. Just wanted to tell yu that for the future.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

And I appreciate the testimonial. Thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But it is the people you are watching being comico... so shouldn't it be feliz? No prob. It's true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the help @kewlgeek555 !

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

You are so very welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do a lot better in English then Spanish. Bye!
