OpenStudy (samigupta8):

why the pressure applied to fluid does not depend upon the size or shape of the vessel?

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Is the vessel open or closed?

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

closed

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

The shape doesn't matter, but pressure is inversely proportional to the volume. You've got pressure, volume, number of molecules, and temperature. If you change any of those it will affect the others.

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Double the volume, leave the atoms and temperature alone, it will half the pressure.
